Baxi Group has opened its latest satellite training facility in Liskeard, Cornwall, bringing the total number of Baxi Group training centres to 12 situated in all areas of the UK.
The new Baxi Group Training Suite is based at South West Assessment and Training (SWAAT), conveniently close to the A38, making it ideal for installers based in Devon and Cornwall.
Between them, SWAAT proprietor Mike Kent, Sally Kent, his daughter and trainer specialising in electrical and renewable technologies, and trainer Kevin Kendall have over 75 years industry experience. "From the moment South West Assessment and Training was established over five years ago, we wanted the company to be recognised as a centre of excellence,” explains Mike.
"We strived to have a training establishment that people would associate with first class training. In order to achieve this it was obvious that the materials and equipment our clients work on would need to be of the highest quality, and our first thought was Baxi Group.
"The Baxi Group name has been synonymous with quality heating products for many years and has a solid reputation for both its appliances and its back-up service. As Baxi Group has a solid customer base in the South West it made perfect sense for our companies to join forces.”

SWAAT offers extensive training on low and zero carbon systems, including solar thermal and heat pumps, and has a Baxi Biomass Multi-heat boiler installed in the training centre.
Baxi Group training facilities are centres of excellence for the heating industry, offering courses on high efficiency boilers, unvented water systems, recognising and repairing appliance faults, electrics, using multimeters and renewable energy products through hands-on experience and expert tuition. The aim is to provide delegates with the skills to enable fast, trouble-free installation and increase confidence in the servicing, maintenance and trouble-shooting of appliances.
