The term energy efficiency is often mentioned, but what is meant by energy efficient products and what is Main doing to ensure about the energy efficiency of our appliances?
Energy efficiency
The Government's Energy White Paper states that every new boiler installed must carry either a SEDBUK Band A or SEDBUK Band B rating.
SEDBUK stands for the Seasonal Efficiency of a Domestic Boiler in the UK and is the national standard for energy performance.
The benefits of these higher rated boilers are that they:
- produce less CO2
- consume less fuel
As a result, buying and installing an energy efficient boiler can significantly reduce heating costs.

The Main range of boilers are all SEDBUK Band A or SEDBUK Band B rated. This ranks them amongst some of the most efficient appliances on the market.
In a recent Which? report the Main Combi 25 Eco was awarded 5 stars for efficiency.
All Main SEDBUK Band A rated boilers are recommended by The Energy Saving Trust.
