Main SEDBUK Band A Products 2 Year Warranty - Terms & Conditions

(N.B. These terms & conditions apply to Main SEDBUK Band A boiler appliances only i.e the Main Eco range of products)

YEAR 1 - 12 Months Parts & Labour Warranty

Terms & Conditions

  1. This appliance is guaranteed by Baxi Heating UK Limited "Main” to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 12 calendar months from the date of installation.
  2. For the duration of the warranty period, Main will exchange or repair at its discretion components proved to be defective in materials and workmanship provided that the appliance has been installed, commissioned and operated in accordance with the supplied instructions. 
  3. During this first year (12 months from date of installation) our appointed engineer's time, labour and parts are free.
  4. The appliance must only be used for domestic purposes, and this warranty only applies to appliances purchased in and used on the mainland of Great Britain.
  5. This warranty does not in any way affect your statutory rights.

YEAR 2 - 12 Month Parts Only Warranty

  1. A further 12 months warranty will be offered in Year 2 (from months 13 - 24 calculated from date of installation) on a parts only basis, on condition that all previous and subsequent clauses of these Terms & Conditions are met:
    1. The boiler must have been manufactured on or after 1st October 2008.
    2. The warranty must be registered within 30 days of installation (either by telephone, via our web registration service or via the warranty card that comes with the appliance).
    3. The appliance must receive an annual service. Proof of a service must be kept safe by the owner and proof of service produced, if requested, by Main.
    4. The 2nd year of this warranty is offered on condition that all repairs made during the 2nd year are carried out by heateam
    5. Replacement parts fitted by heateam will be guaranteed for the remainder of the appliance's warranty period. The labour on these replacement parts will be guaranteed for 90 days.
    6. heateam will offer a fixed price labour charge on any repair work carried out during the 2nd year of warranty.
    7. Main reserves the right to reduce the warranty period to 12 calendar months parts & labour (calculated from date of installation) if any one of the clauses (1a - 1f) is not met.

Exclusions - This warranty DOES NOT COVER

  1. Any repair required as a result of any case other than a malfunction, defect or failure of the appliance itself.
  2. Any malfunction, defect or failure in the heating system or external controls to which the appliance is connected, as the heating system is the householder's responsibility.
  3. Any damage caused by hard water scale deposits and/or aggressive water or sludge resulting from corrosion. Indications that such work may be needed include a noisy heating system, cold spots on radiators, sludged up pipes and poor circulation in the central heating system.
  4. Main appliances that are installed damaged or that are damaged during installation. If a Main appliance is found to be damaged on delivery then it must not be installed. Contact your supplier to arrange replacement under warranty.
  5. Any problems caused by inadequate supply of electricity, gas or water to the property.
  6. Main will only carry out warranty repair/replacement to Main appliances where safe access is provided that meets current Health & Safety regulations, including, but not limited to, Working at Height requirements. The customer will cover the cost of any safety equipment e.g. scaffolding and lifting equipment etc. that is required to meet this standard and will appoint a contractor to carry out this work. Main accepts no liability for any third party damage.
  7. Appliances which have not been installed and commissioned strictly in accordance with the installation instructions supplied with it (including the requirement to cleanse the system and add corrosion inhibitor in accordance with BS7593:1992) and/or where the benchmark logbook has not been properly completed and/or which have not been maintained strictly in accordance with the maintenance instructions supplied with the appliance.
  8. Compensation for consequential losses (e.g. loss of earnings, business losses, stress and inconvenience) arising from product breakdown, including delays caused by factors outside our reasonable control.
  9. Main will not be liable for failure resulting from fair wear and tear, willful or accidental damage, negligence, abnormal working conditions, failure to comply with instructions (whether oral or in writing), misuse or alteration of the product without Main's approval.
  10. Installations which have not been carried out by fully trained and competent person(s) will not be covered by this warranty. This means installers must be registered with either CORGI or The Gas Safe Register, operated by Capita.
  11. The installation must be in an appropriate location. Please see the Site Requirements section of your Installation Instructions.
  12. Appliances subjected to the following conditions will not be covered by the warranty:
    1. Damage of any nature whether accidental, negligent, malicious or otherwise
    2. Acts of god, explosions, floods, tempests, exceptional weather conditions, fire or accident
    3. War, sabotage, insurrection, civil disturbance or requisition
    4. Acts, restrictions, regulations, by-laws, prohibitions or measures of any kind on the part of any Governmental, Parliamentary or Local Authority
    5. Tampering or modification
    6. Theft or attempted theft
  13. If Main is asked by a customer to send a heateam engineer to an appliance that is not covered by this warranty, Main reserves the right to charge for the engineer's visit, including the cost of any additional parts or labour required.
  14. Neither the householder nor any other unauthorised person should attempt to make repairs to the appliance, other than to take emergency action to prevent injury or damage.
  15. Except for this warranty, no representation or warranty made by a third party concerning the appliance shall be binding on Main.
